Precedent has been applied to if the abuse takes place during an official activty of Watchtower, such as in the Conti case when the abuse occurred in service. There are some others but in very narrow circumstances.

These are big firms but it is not a guarantee. There is a lot of cases where courts have ruled that Watchtower, along with other churches, don't have a duty to warn or protect. They have also ruled that they don't have a fiduciary duty to it's members. Obviously these firms believe that they can overcome these issues but it won't be a cake walk for them to overcome the precedents already established by the courts in a number of different states.

ARC Analysis Summary of Case Files
by Richard Oliver ini have been doing research on the arc as some people on here have suggested.
i find it interesting on the case file analysis some of the findings.
it looks like queensland and new south wales had the biggest problems with this.

one Christian might commit a serious crime against another—such as rape, assault, murder, or major theft. In such cases, it would not be unchristian to report the matter to the authorities, even though doing so might result in a court case or a criminal trial.
And these date back to 1991 and 1997.
I said before did elders make mistakes, yes they did and they did not follow policy. But to say it is policy to punish any person who reports a crime is not the policy of Watchtower.

Cobweb:
You may have a point, which I have never thought about it. But I don't think that I am defending them when I say you cannot expect an organization to prevent the harm of a third person by one of it's members. That would be similar to saying if you are apart of an IEEE which is an association of professional engineers, and one of those members commit a crime which has nothing to do with their membership in that organization, would that organization be responsible for that person's actions. I don't think so, that person acted upon their own. Should they have known that he was going to commit that crime, there is no way for them to have known that. Now if that organization knows what that person did and puts him in a position that might help him re-offend in committing that crime, then yes that organization had a duty to protect that subsequent crime, but they could not stop the initial crime.

These lawyers will have to overcome a lot of persuasive and mandatory precedent. It will be interesting to see what happens over time.

Oh wait outlaw you are preaching to a group of people who completely agree with you and don't hear any opposition, so when you hear rational arguments against your position all you can do is act like a little boy and post memes and not talk and explain your position like a grown man.

How about if you acknowledge that there is another side to this argument that can have some valid disagreements with you. How about you saying hey I don't like child abuse but I am going to be open to some other opinions and not just shut it down as saying well they are sympathizers with child abusers.

And yes notsurewheretogo. I have stated that if it wasn't for the fact that I was gay I would love to be a witness again. I have come here to get information like letters and such to stay on top of their current policies so that I can live my life as much as I can like a witness. I have never hid that, I have been open about that.

If you look at their website. The lawyers are mostly litigators that have dealt with asbestos, mesothelioma and product liability cases. It is a number of firms who have joined together to support one another in this. They have teamed up with a firm that has specialized in child abuse cases for the expertise in handling the emotions that would come up with clients in dealing with this.
